picture-time

a couple of us were in need of pictures for the yearbook, and also pictures of us 'gals' together. so on sunday we grabbed Liz R. who is a photographer extraordinaire and headed out in the autumn sun to frolick around sunset hill and the golf course.
Some of the results
also, lizbeth and i had a lovely walk today out on the farm, and we encountered a patch of milkweed, and i just happened to have justin's camera with me... pictures of milkweed

thesis

so after having sent me an email that just sent me into a big whirlwind of emotions about my thesis, my advisor and i had a fab meeting today which restored my confidence in him, myself and my thesis. it is going to absolutely kick butt (not mine!) and it's really cool to see how excited he is about this project. he is pretty certain that i will get either an invite to present my paper, or get it published in a cogsci journal...!
so now, in addition to testing the combination of visual and tactile stimulus, i will be building a model of the system that controls the actions i am interested in. this sounds complicated, but i have been reassured that it is not as difficult as it sounds, and just might be fun (this coming from the saditistic prof, so taken with a grain of salt)

other news is that my body has finally buckled under the pressure and i am sick. no fun. but at least it's time for break and i can go be sick while my dad makes me tea : )

speaking of which, my cup is empty, so i'm going to go make some more. oh, an accomplishment while i was not doing work b/c of sickness: i redid my CV (granted, it's only in Norwegian so far) with html and css.. not sure about the design as is, but at least it's there.

*hate*

don't you just love it when you go to check mail and the little status bar says "downloading message 1 of 26" and instead of feeling loved and popular, you just know that it is ALL JUNK. at home we have this little sticker on our mailbox saying that we don't want any unadressed mail (aka ads galore). i really just want a big virtual sign saying "NO VIAGRA WANTED" to accompany my email addresses...
